What We Treat

Degenerative and Musculoskeletal Conditions

We specialize in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and conservative care of joint and spine-related disorders and their effects on nervous system function and general health. We screen and identify postural and functional abnormalities in movement and implement specific rehabilitative programs while, also providing strengthening and stabilization that create lasting changes. We use cutting edge technology and advanced therapeutics to help retrain the brain and nervous system to provide enhanced stability, strength, and integrity of joint-related conditions. Our soft-tissue manual techniques are gold standard treatments for problem associated with muscle, tendon, ligament, fascia, and nerve disorders.

Brain Injuries

Concussion and Traumatic Brain Injuries involve a disruption in the normal brain function following a bump, blow, jolt, or penetrating injury to the head. Those affected can have a wide range of symptoms that can include brain fog, headaches, attention deficits, dizziness, cognitive and memory impairments, nausea, light and sound sensitivity. We use specific diagnostic testing and a neurological exam to localize where these dysfunctions or injuries have occurred in the brain. We then design specifically tailored brain exercises to retrain and strengthen the areas of dysfunction. Our transformative, evidence-based Cognitive Brain Training Programs help patients with concussion, Traumatic Brain Injury, and Acquired Brain Injury.

Autonomic Conditions

Dysautonomia is an umbrella term used to describe several medical conditions that cause a malfunctioning of the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS). The ANS controls functions of the body that we don’t need to consciously think about, such as heart rate, breathing, temperature control, and kidney function. This can cause people living with dysautonomia to have trouble regulating these systems, which can result in light-headedness, fainting, unstable blood pressure, abnormal heart rate, malnutrition, migraines, and in severe cases, death. Common dysautonomia conditions include Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), Orthostatic Hypotension, Neurocardiogenic Syncope (NCS), and Multiple System Atrophy (MSA). Those affected struggle with everyday tasks such as standing, sitting or getting up from lying position.

Our Services

Functional Neurology

Functional Neurology is a healthcare paradigm that utilizes the clinical applications of neuroscience to carefully examine the intricate relationship of the brain and nervous system and how they control your overall health and well-being. By carefully examining the brain’s ability to integrate various systems of the body, we create customized therapy plans based on your condition and treatment goals without the need for pharmaceuticals or surgery. Functional neurology can benefit individuals with a wide range of neurological disorders such as Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, multiple sclerosis, as well as conditions such as vertigo, dizziness, migraine, concussion and brain injury.

Chiropractic Rehabilitation

Using gentle spinal adjustments to restore joint function and support the nervous system, chiropractic focuses on the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and conservative care of spine-related disorders and their effects on nervous system function and general health. We specialize in spine and joint related diseases, orthopedic disorders, headaches, carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis, sciatica, rotator cuff injuries, TMJ syndrome, sports injuries, knee injuries, nerve injuries & nerve compression, ankle sprains, shin splints, low back pain, upper back pain, neck pain, and more. We incorporate advanced rehabilitative therapies based on the latest in neuroscience research.

Cognitive Brain Training

The Hartman Center is the first medical center in the United States offering an evidence-based cognitive remediation platform with measurable outcomes for brain injuries, from concussion to mTBI and ABI. Our Cognitive Brain Training program offers three unique platforms that are each tailored to address cognitive deficiencies resulting from brain injuries. Through capacity building and neuroplasticity, we are able to improve the connections between multiple regions of the brain. Our brain training helps to improve attention, executive function, concentration, memory, response inhibition, focus, organization skills, and overall cognitive ability.

Functional Medicine

Functional medicine is a systems biology–based approach that focuses on identifying and addressing the root cause of disease. Each symptom or differential diagnosis may be one of many contributing to an individual’s illness. Using customized laboratory testing to screen and identify metabolic imbalances, we look for patterns and assess for the presence of disease. We provide diet and nutritional counseling, supplementation and education with lifestyle enhancement. We offer an individualized approach to detecting underlying causes of disease with a focus on the interconnectedness of our biological systems in contrast to compartmentalizing each system.
